For the past two weeks (that's 14 days, PEOPLE!) I have been suffering with severe allergies. Miserable. I grew up with Asthma and allergies, but I can honestly say I have never had allergies that have lasted this long and left me wanting to shoot myself. Meet Mr. Neti (pictured above). He is my new best friend. Do you know what that is? I have to tell you, just in case there is someone who doesn't know, because I'm thinking Mr. Neti might become your best friend too!
You fill that bad boy up with some warm water and a mixture (that comes with it). Tilt your head to the side and back and pour into one nostril. And this is the crazy part, you can literally fill it running through all of your sinus cavities. Seriously! It washes everything out and comes out the other side. OK, get past all the gross thoughts.......and it is amazing!
Last night we had dinner with some of my cousins and other family and I was so miserable that I literally couldn't hear. Every time I would take a drink of my tea, my ears would pop. I was so desperate for some help, and that is when Nicole informed me of the Neti pot. I had heard about this product before, but just forgot about it. Ms. Desperate (that would be me) stopped at Walgreens on the way home and I purchased my new best friend. No lie, people....it was pure bliss after I did this bad boy. I have never felt such relief so fast!
But I guess the better question would be.....what on earth has got me so miserable? Whatever is in the air needs to go far, far away. Enough about Mr. Neti! I just had to share just in case someone else was as miserable as I was am....go buy a Neti Pot!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
We have been so busy lately, and I am so ready for things to slow down (but that doesn't seem possibly when I look at my full calendar!). And you will never believe this....I am supposed to go on my first ever girls trip this weekend. I say 'supposed to' because I am just praying that I feel better than I do now (and I don't start feeling guilty about leaving my family behind - which is what usually prevents me from going on any type of girls trip). My in-real-life best friend (as opposed to my pretend best friend - Mr. Neti) and I were just talking about the fact that we have never gone on a (much needed) girls trip before....what are we thinking?! I have to say that I will do anything to get there. Our Mentoring Mom (who leads our bible study) invited us all out to their ranch this weekend (out near Fredericksburg). If I have ever needed some time away.....it would be now. I'm praying it all works out and my 'mother's guilt' doesn't kick in and keep me here. At the moment, not much could keep me around!
I haven't even had time to read blogs lately, so hopefully I can catch up on what you guys are doing very soon. I hope you are all having a great week....I'm off to have another chat with Mr. Neti.

I got my new best friend neti last week too, after not being able to hear either. Love it!
You need to go on your girl's trip. Don't let the guilt get to you because you, your husband and kids will all benefit from you going. We all need/deserve a break sometimes and there's no better way to have one than with a bunch of Godly women.
Definitely go on the girl's trip, you will be so happy that you did!
I'm so glad that the neti pot helped. I've resorted to drinking apple cider vinegar and it helps instantly, it's awesome!
xo
Oh a girls trip sounds blissful!! I do the same thing though...feel guilty about leaving..never done a full weekend before just a day out with the girls!
The allergies...ARGH!! I hate them and mine are at their all time worst right now! I keep hearing about the neti pot but never tried it...maybe I should!!
Have a GREAT weekend!!!
I use the sinus cleanse. It's a squeeze bottle. My husband thinks it's gross but he has no idea how much it helps me. Whenever I get tired of it I might try the neti pot. I've heard a lot of good things about it. My ENT said it works well too, but so does the squeeze bottle.
Glad you are getting some relief.
Have fun on your trip, if you don't go can I?
I use my Neti every so often and LOVE it. Lately it has been used every day, twice a day! It does truely help! Loved your comments on my give away post...totally cracked me up and gave me a little giggle!
YOU so deserve a break. Robbie will do just FINE with the kiddos! No guilt missy!

You have to go on the trip! And I love that you got that Neti pot!!

Oh yes I've heard of Mr Neti. In our office (I worked in an ENT office....in the allergy clinic, ha!)we have samples of the squeeze bottles, same concept.
I hope you are feeling better soon girl.
Ok I give this advice MUCH better than I take it. Here goes!
We mommies need breaks too. We need time outs. We give 110% of ourselves to our children and families. Go Get Away! You will come back renewed and refreshed and be able to give more to your family. GO!!! We all need an occasional time out. *wink*
You have to go to the ranch! The Bolin's place is awesome!!! Have fun!!
