Happy 6th Birthday, Lesser Lamb!

To My Sweetest Angel,

You know it's gonna happen...ya know the part where I say, 'I can't believe you are SIX!'. But truly, I can't! I still remember the days leading up to your birth so vividly. I remember praying like crazy that the doctors would be able to get you flipped so I wouldn't have to have a c-section (it was just the fear of the unknown). I found out on a Friday you were breach and I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday scared out of my mind not knowing what was going to happen! But after a few SEVERAL tugs, pulls and yanks from two different doctors at the same time, I couldn't believe it when I literally felt you flip inside me...'Thank You, God!' was all I could think! About 6 minutes of pushing, and my doctor literally arriving just in time to catch you coming out, the next thing I knew, you were on my chest with a head full of black hair! It is truly amazing how fast you fall in love with someone in that split second...there is no way to describe it.

We brought you home from the hospital on Christmas Eve, and it was the best Christmas Eve EVER! I was home with my Husband, my one (almost two) year old just loving on our new baby. We couldn't get enough of you. I remember a lot of that time, your Daddy walked around with the video camera attached to his palm....seriously. Every time I turned around, he was interviewing someone about our new love....YOU! Nothing else mattered that Christmas (well, you and the reason we celebrate Christmas to begin with)...I had everything I could ever want right there with me!

I will never forget how easy it was. Really! Husband and Kole kept each other occupied and I just nursed, changed and loved on my new baby girl 24/7. I actually looked forward to getting up in the middle of the night...you were such an amazing baby!

Then you turned 2.

Um, yea....we'll leave it at that.

Let's just say that a little sass came out then. But, it wasn't the kind of sass that would get you into trouble...it was the kind that kept us laughing 24/7 (while trying to hide our face so you couldn't see that we were laughing). I have so many videos of you just cracking us up....I mean, how could I get mad at you?! That's not to say that you didn't (and still don't!) try to push the boundaries....but your personality is so full of life and laughter it just amazes me!

I look at you....and you make me smile, Alexie! You are such a great daughter and I am so blessed to be your Mama! I hope you have the best birthday - you BIG 6 year old! I love you with all my heart, love!
