"How much would you pay for a Colt McCoy signature? Seriously, I would love your thoughts (and this is mainly a question for those peeps who love UT)! I will follow up on this later tonight!"
Well, if you are my friend on facebook, you know I went to the mall yesterday (by myself, which hardly ever happens!! YAY ME!) and as I entered the mall I saw a sea of burnt orange. Really, hundreds of people....all decked out in some sort of Texas attire. Obviously there was something going on. Come to find out, Mr. Colt McCoy was there signing autographs! I immediately called Husband to see if they wanted to come up and he couldn't make up his mind. Come to find out, he was half asleep and didn't really remember me calling. So I finish my shopping (thank goodness I wasn't gone that long!) and when I returned, Husband was running around the house telling everyone to get ready to go up to the mall. We had maybe 45 minutes to get back to the mall and wait in line before he left. And after getting in line we learned we were the last ones before the cut off. Can you just imagine Husband and Kole's joy when they heard that news?!
Well, what we didn't know is they were charging to get something signed. OK, so maybe I'm not with it, but I assumed you waited in line and out of the goodness of his heart he signed whatever it was you want signed....BIG. FAT. NO. You had to purchase a ticket for EACH ITEM you wanted signed. Wanna take a guess at how much? Well, I'll just tell you. To get Kole's jersey signed was $90 (plus tax)....pretty much $100 - for ONE item. Kole also brought his Hook 'em sign that his daddy made to have Colt sign it (how cool would that be?!)...
But after hearing the cost, we decided that it would be just too crazy to pay to have two things signed, so the boys decided on his jersey (that he will never wear again, by the way!). Husband plans on having it framed with a couple of the pictures we got. Oh, that's another thing, you could get your picture taken with Colt, but you had to buy another ticket for that as well....man, they made a killing!
Kole's Texas jersey was already special because my brother, Kyle had given it to him and had 'Anderson' put on the back (with Colt's number)...so now it is extra special! Robbie has it tucked put away (high up) so our crazy human dog won't get it (oh, yesterday she ate a phone book....who does that?!). I don't think she will be bothering this (although, I wouldn't put it past her!!!)....

We weren't supposed to take pictures, but by the time Colt got to us, you could tell he (and the peeps with him) were SO ready to go that they didn't even care!
Colt waiting for more photo ops for the people that dished out a few hundred more just for a picture - CRAZY!
And then finally it was our turn for the $100 autograph (I honestly still can't believe we paid that...I am a pretty frugal person so it was is hard for me to swallow), but I know how happy it made Husband and Kole...that's all that matters!

Last time he'll wear that bad boy (Husband promised him a new one...he can't go long without one to wear)...
So, did you guess right? Would you have ever guessed a $100 for ONE autograph. And lastly, am I the ONLY crazy person that thought something like this would be free...ya know, first come first served????
Regardless, my two boys are happy (and still on cloud 9)....and that's all that matters!

NOTHING! I kid! I kid! I only say that because I'm from Nebraska, you know the Huskers-that had Suh, who pretty much took McCoy down?! :) Ok, I'll shush-Texas did win by ONE point in like the last 1 or 2 seconds :)
I should follow up and say, I really do like Colt McCoy!!! :)
Colt McCoy is an amazing athlete and follower of HIM on and off the field. While I can't give you a number, I can tell you I would pay $$ to get something autographed by him.

This means you must've got his autograph when you saw him at the mall!!!
For some time, I have been telling Robbie and Kole about the benefits of being an Aggie instead of a horn. Here is another one. Given the lack of A&M's football prowess, the Aggie players will actually pay you when they autograph something. While having to pay $100 for an autograph is ridiculous, I suspect that Kole will get more than $100 of joy in the years to come. Plus, if I was going to pick some college athletes for Kole to emulate, Colt McCoy would certainly be on the list.

Okay...now you know me, that is way out of my budget :) BUT, I know Robbie and I know Kole and I KNOW they were in heaven, how cool is that! Happy early birthday to Kole! Did the $$ go to a good cause, b/c I would have dealt with it better knowing that. I, too, would have FOR SURE thought that it was free!
love,
Annie
Oh yeah...one more thing! If he was a Baylor Bear fan, I bet it the autograph would have been free. Only b/c Baylor is such a wonderful, loving, caring, beautiful institute!
I would have paid $100 for a signed jersey from Colt for my son. Cole is going to cherish that forever. Way to go mom!
OK--I can't believe that you had to pay. I would never have thought. BUT--I love Colt McCoy because of his character on and off the field. So glad you paid! What a great memory!
Love the pix of Kole in front of the store window in his signed jersey! Priceless!
wow! no, you're not alone! i can't believe they charged. that's the first i've heard of someone doing that. :(
oh well, sounds like it was worth it. at least he's a real stand-up guy! :)
