five

Yesterday it happened.

My last baby had a big milestone....

This little Angel turned a whole hand!!!

I don't know how it happened so quickly. One day she is eating her first bite of cake....

And the next minute, she's two and off exploring and learning everything she can possibly soak up. Ky happens to share a birthday with her Poppy!! She always liked trying on his boots!

Then I look up, and she is three! I start to see the beginning signs of her needing me less and less {insert big sigh here}.

Four arrives way too fast, and her needing me has almost completely slipped away. After all, she also has a brother and sister that would do anything for her!

Kylie has to be the funniest kid I have ever been around. I am always laughing hysterically when she is present!

Now she's five and she owns her very own opinions, thoughts and ideas! And when those opinions, thoughts and ideas come to fruition, she is very serious about them. Maybe a little stubborn at times (not sure where she gets that one!).

Kylie requested a good 'ole pop tart for her birthday breakfast!

One thing this five year old can be very stubborn about is her outfits! Homegirl L♥VES skinny jeans and leggings!! I think I could have gotten her just this one pair of leggings and everything in her little world would have been perfect!!

Being the birthday girl is hard work (after school!)....

Daddy picked us up and we were off to dinner! I'm thinking deep down inside, despite all the bickering, my kids really do love each other! They both made Ky birthday cards.....all on their own!

Nobody gets away with some sort of celebration when it's your birthday (just keep that in mind if you ever wanna go to Texas Roadhouse for your b-day!)...

Eat fast before it disappears!!

We had dinner right next to the mall and Kylie wanted to take us somewhere afterwards!!

Follow ME!!

Come on, you gotta see this....

Almost there.....

This is going to be great!!!

Yes Ma'am!

Alright, let's do this!!!

Yup! You probably guessed it, there's a new five year old on the town with some pretty pierced ears!

Daddy cleaning them for the first time! She is still the toughest cookie I know. Since it was later in the evening, there was only one worker (so they couldn't have two people do it at the same time), but she still wanted to get it done. She barely flinched the first time and didn't move at all on the second ear!

So big. Sigh.

I'm SO. MAJORLY. IN. L♥VE. with this little firecracker!!!!!

Kylie talking to her birthday buddy & Gabby about her exciting news!!!

And then I went home and cried.

No, really. I cried.

I remember when Alexie was younger, Husband and I went back and forth for a while on when our little girl could get her ears pierced. We finally agreed that 5 years was the earliest. With Alexie, I thought her 5th birthday would never get here!! Alexie and I literally had a calendar and marked off the days. Well, as Kylie's 5th birthday was approaching, I was actually dreading the whole ear piercing thing. That would just confirm that I no longer had a baby. That would mean that all of my muncherheads were B.I.G.

I secretly hoped she would forget, but Alexie wasn't helping the situation by continuing to remind her....always looking out for her sister.

I even stooped to an all new low thinking that I could scare her out of it. Hey, I just wanted to make sure she knew it would hurt!!! :/ I know, it's terrible. I was reaching. Kylie was polite enough to hear me out, and then she went on to talk some more about getting those earrings.

So, today, I am reminded that I no longer have very small children underfoot. I don't think it helped that I went through the girls closets on Monday and cleared out THREE (lawn-sized) trash bags of all the 'little kid' toys.

It's official, my three babes are B.I.G.

Kylie,

You are the sunshine that lights this family up! I'm pretty sure it's safe to say none of us remember what life was like before you joined our family! I just can't imagine it any other way. Thank you for always making me laugh and reminding me to not take life too seriously.......although, I'm still working on that one every day. Look at you, teaching me things!!

I hope you had a fabulous 5th birthday!!
I love you with everything I have, Zippy!

xoxoxoxo

ps - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, POPPY! We missed seeing you on your actual birthday, but we hope it was a great one! Love you, too!

Adorable post! I had to giggle because I just finished a VERY SIMILAR post lay out for Ethan's birthday. It will post on Monday, the day he turns 4!!! I cried my way through the post I wrote as I posted old pictures too!! I had to smile at our similar "mama heart posts". Your kids are absolutely adorable and I love that she was so brave for her earrings. Such a milestone for little girls :)

What a lovely birthday post! They do grow up so very fast. I laughed when I saw her bunk bed with all her friends tucked into the under side of the top bunk. My daughter did that with one of her stuffed animals. I would have never thought of doing that! They are so clever. :)

I'm your newest follower. Found you from "me and my new life" blog. =)
