Not long ago, Alexie and the rest of the 2nd graders had their music program. Well, right before we left on our trip, it was Kole's turn.
When you think 4th grade, what comes to your mind?! One thing immediately pops up in mine....the RECORDER!
They had certain songs that they practiced, earning different colored 'karate belts' (AKA colored yarn to wrap around their recorder) for every song they mastered. When it came time for the program you only played the songs you had mastered (bragging on my little man, he earned all of his!). The black belt is the highest (hardest song to master) and there were only a dozen students who earned the black belt.

And the others weren't far behind being silly girls (Alexie was busy catching up with all of her friends from school she ran into)!!
